Eswarah posts fourth successive win in style at KRC
KARACHI, Nov 19: Riding on the crest of a wave, favourite three-year-old chestnut filly Eswarah posted a magnificent six lengths victory over The Arab to make it four in a row and land the one mile feature event in the Gymkhana race meeting at Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.
After completing hat-trick in the last outing she was rated fancied to reign supreme on her current form which she did in style. The combination of trio comprising owner Shafiq, trainer Ehtisham and rider Arshad worked effectively as they came out with a splendid double.
Their earlier winner was filly Maid’s Causeway who galloped to a facile 10 lengths victory over colt Laat Sahib.
Finishing third behind Eswarah and The Arab was Abhi Abhi while Reyan King completed the frame. The handling of Reyan King by rider Ghulam Shabbir II was suspected and left a bad taste in the mouth of punters. He should have finish better on the board. Barring opening two races which include a fluke of the day, Dawn had seven winners.
The Golden Sliper Cup ended in a blaze of glory for two-year-old bay colt, Cash Flow, who repeated his winning feat by sprinting to six lengths victory over Pha Pha Kutni with M. Nasir astride.
Finishing three lengths behind was Rebecca and another four lengths away was Inside Story.
Nasir presented another winner to owner-trainer Amir Ahmed when he piloted four-year-old bay colt, Paidagir, home to eight lengths win over Gwenivare. The win enabled him to complete double.
M. R. Hussain’s fancied filly Makina atoned to her earlier loss when she edged out Dragon Heart by three lengths in the concluding event. They were followed by Adaab Arz and Chaleswan Chur.
Despite defeats of Pha Pha Kutni, Laat Sahib, Abhi Abhi and Chaleswan Chur, Shah Mardan Shah Pir Pagara ended with a double. His winners were fillies Patricia in the third and Miss Milee in the fifth. Rider Essa and trainer Sher Mohammad also shared the joyous moments with the owner.
Three-year-old bay colt, Shah Sawar, who has never appeared on board sent shocking waves when he beat Silver City by head in the opener.
Super Shot also created a stir beating favourite filly Kat Mandu by four lengths to claim the second race.
