JUI-F drive against sale of islands

By Our Correspondent

DADU, Nov 14: General Secretary of Jamiat Ulema-i- Islam (F), Sindh, Senator Khalid Mehmood Soomro, has said that his party would take out protest rallies throughout the province from November 21 against the handing over of two islands to foreign firms.

He said that Jamat-i-Islami, Awami Tehrik, STP, SNP, JSM, SNF, PPP-SB and other parties were also invited to join the protest drive. He was speaking at a gathering at Madressa Tajul Uloom in Khairpur Nathan Shah on Tuesday.

He said that Port Qasim Authority had no right to sale the islands of Sindh to foreign companies. He said that people should prepare themselves for next general elections and predicted that the MMA would secure more seats in the country. Although elections would not be fair, but MMA would take part in the elections process and resist government’s rigging plans.

He said that Sindh was handed over to waderas and government officials were misusing their powers.

He said that an unannounced Governor rule was imposed in Sindh.
