PESHAWAR: Liberian national deported

PESHAWAR, Nov 4: A Liberian national was deported from the Peshawar airport and a passenger was detained on Saturday after FIA’s immigration officials found their passports to be bogus. Charleston Murphy Dennis, a Liberian national, had arrived here aboard PIA flight PK-284 coming from Dubai.

The immigration authorities found his passport to be fake. Mr Dennis was deported by the same flight, said a press release. According to another press release, the FIA personnel arrested a passenger who came to Peshawar from the UAE by PIA flight PK-280 by using a fake passport. He identified himself as Sabghatullah of Bannu. The authorities suspected his passport had been tampered with.

During questioning, the passenger said he had lost his passport in UAE and got a new passport after paying 2,500 dirhams. His real name was Gul Zaman, son of Sharh Khan, a resident of Mirali in North Waziristan.—Bureau
