KASUR, Oct 28: Three people were killed and four other injured while a jeep and a motorcycle were put to fire over a land dispute in Bavlee village in Chunian on Saturday.

Police said Sardar Shoaib of Dheelay Walla and Ishaq of Bavlee had an exchange of fire for about three hours as a result of which Chiragh Din and Saif of the former party were killed on the spot while Ishaq, Zulfiqar, Ashiq, Rauf and Saira Bibi sustained injuries. They were admitted to hospital where Ishaq succumbed to his injuries.

Ashiq and Rauf have been referred to Jinnah Hospital in Lahore in critical condition.

Later, Sardar Shoaib group set to fire a Toyota Land Cruiser and a new Honda motorcycle to fire of their rivals.

When a police party reached the spot, the Sardar Shoaib group members injured ASI Mohammad Ali who was rushed to hospital.

ACCIDENT: Two people died and 15 injured when a bus ran into a tree after hitting a motorcycle on Multan Road.

The accident took place near Basti Model City, Pattoki. The bus bound for Okara first hit the motorcycle carrying Mushtaq, Khadim Hussain and Hanifa Bibi and then ran into a tree. Motorcyclists Mushtaq and Khadim succumbed to their injuries while Hanifa Bibi was on ventilator in local hospital. Fourteen bus passengers, including three women and two children, sustained injuries.

CAR LIFTERS: Police have smashed a notorious gang of car lifters and recovered a car and illicit weapons near Bahadurpur village on Friday night.

On the complaint of a rent-a-car driver Sabir Ali that Abdul Rehman alias Manee along with his accomplices had driven away with a car from him at gunpoint, the DPO formed two teams which arrested three of the accused and recovered the car. The main accused was still at large.
