KARACHI, Oct 16: The universal message of Islam is getting increasingly popular throughout the world as the teachings of Islam are revolutionary which keep Muslims active throughout their lives.
This was stated by Syed Munawwar Hasan, secretary-general of the Jamaat-i-Islami, while speaking at a `Shab Bedari’ congregation at Masjid-i-Qaba in Labour Square.
Stressing the importance of jihad, he criticised the rulers for asking people to give it up.
He said the rulers were trying to deprive people of Quranic teachings in the name of moderation. He said that a woman journalist from the west, who was in the custody of the Taliban, said that while she was in their custody she was treated so well that she decided to embrace Islam.
Mr Hasan further said that today many women in France, Britain, Germany and other countries of the west were coming into the fold of Islam under the influence of Quranic teachings.
The JI leader deplored that certain parties were pinning hopes on the US to get power whose prestige itself was in jeopardy in Iraq and Afghanistan. He said it was high time for our rulers to learn lessons from the situation there and desist from becoming part of the “anti-Islam conspiracies”.
