Neighbourhood, Bounce set final date
KARACHI, Oct 13: Neighbourhood United Varsity and Bounce Club set a final date after registering contrasting victories over their opponents in pre-finals of Neighbourhood United Ramazan basketball tournament at Arambagh floodlight court on Thursday night.
Neighbourhood Varsity inflicted 68-41 defeat on its second string Neighbourhood first division after leading 39-29 at half time. The first two quarters were evenly fought with former winning 21-13 and 18-16.
However, it was on resumption that the senior outfit scored at their will and enhanced its tally to 24-8 in the third quarter. The two teams gave up in the last quarter and could manage 5-4 points.
Shakir excelled for the winners with 17 points to his credit. Hammad Khan (14) and Ali (12) were the other major scorers. Sameel (12) and Salman (11) shared scoring honours for losers.
Bounce Club taught a lesson to once powerhouse of game in the city Arambagh Club 83-18 in the second clash of night. The winners led 48-9 at half time.
Samir top scored for winners with 21 points. He was followed by Babar 10. Sultan Habib and Umer scored 7 and 5 for losing side.
