KARACHI: Steps urged to preserve mosque

KARACHI, Oct 4: Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim has taken notice of the poor condition of the historic mosque built by Mohammad bin Qasim at Arore near Sukkur which was in a worn-out condition and had completely damaged sans a lone wall.

A press spokesman of the CM said millions of rupees had been issued for repair of this historic mosque during the government of Gen Ziaul Haq but these funds were bungled by corrupt elements.

The chief minister ordered the Sindh secretary culture and tourism and DCO Sukkur to take steps to preserve this historic mosque. He said he would personally visit and inspect this mosque in his coming visit to Sukkur.—PPI
