Death for five killers

Published September 20, 2006

LAHORE, Sept 19: An anti-terrorism court on Tuesday awarded death sentence to five people, including a woman, on four counts in a quadruple murder case. Squadron leader Maqsood Ali Shah (retired), his wife, son and another man had been murdered in Nawankot some three months ago.

His adopted daughter, Asfa Ali, was arrested and turned out to be a mastermind of the murders. The prosecution proved the case saying Asfa, her husband Iftikhar together with three accomplices — Shahid Bashir, Imran and Mahmood — committed the crime in a bid to get hold of the property owned by the retired air force officer.

The court awarded capital punishment on four counts with a fine of Rs400,000 to each of the five accused.
