ISLAMABAD, Sept 14: Pakistan beat Thailand in the inaugural match of 13th Asian Junior men's volleyball in Tehran, on Thursday.

According to information available, Pakistan beat Thailand in straight sets 25-14, 25-16, 25-19.

In the first set, middle blocker Mohib Rasool, setter Muhammad Imran and experienced Imran Tipu were the scorers from Pakistan.

Thailand offered some tough resistance in the third set but surrendered against Pakistani spikers.

Pakistan have been placed in Group “D” alongside Japan, India, Yemen and Thailand. Pakistan will face traditional rivals India on Friday. Two teams from each group will advance for quarter-finals.

A total of 17 teams from Asia are taking part in this Championship which will conclude on September 21.—APP
