Govt not to use force against protesters: CM

By Our Staff Correspondent

QUETTA, Aug 28: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Mir Mohammad Yousuf said on Monday that the government would not use force against protesters expressing their anger over the killing of Nawab Akbar Bugti.

Talking to reporters at the Chief Minister’s House, he said the government had taken peaceful measures to maintain law and order in Quetta and other areas of Balochistan.

“Despite looting and burning of public buildings and vehicles, we are avoiding any action that could cause further loss of human lives,” he said.

He pointed out that the government could have taken action against protesters to avoid the huge loss but it had avoided doing so and exercised the restraint instead.
