KARACHI, Aug 21: Seven ships carrying containers and to load rice and cement are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was active seven ships, Capoe Santiago, Oel Aishwarya, Maersk Arkansas and Thor Captain to unload and load containers, Serife, to offload coal, and BBC Ukraine to unload and load general cargo were berthed.

Sailing was also active as nine vessels departed after loading and unload cargoes. They are: Kota Mesra, Corin Thaikos, Iran Tabatabaei, Oel Aishwarya, Cape Santiago, Noshire-3, Shalamar, Atlantic Trader and Malakand.

Four others, including Maersk Arkansas, Alexa-M, Christoes, Pagasus Ace are expected to sail out on Tuesday after loading export consignments.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was on the higher side where a total tonnage of 98,837 tons comprising 18,132 tons of export cargo including 1,812 tons of rice and 80,705 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Tuesday: APL Dalian, ACX Jasmine, Kota Permal and Conti Esperance, with containers, Windsor Star to load 12,000 tons of rice, Explorer-1 to load 12,000 tons of cement, Lynx to load general cargo and Sea Breeze to offload project cargo.
