KARACHI: Telephone services affected

KARACHI, Aug 17: Thousands of mobile phone users faced hardships as cellphone networks collapsed on Thursday evening following heavy rains across the city here.

All mobile phone services remained disturbed for hours and subscribers complained about dropping of signals.

They said they were unable to make calls as their sets did not work.

PTCL subscribers who tried to contact cellphones were also unable to connect. The cellphone network could not be normalized till late in the night.
