Man drowns

MUZAFFARABAD, July 26: A young Kashmiri refugee was drowned in Jhelum river while catching wood in violent waters near here on Wednesday, a police official said.

The official said that the victim had been identified as Shaukat Mir, of Ambore refugee camp. Due to heavy downpour efforts to fish out his body had so far been unsuccessful, he added.

During the monsoon rains, Neelum and Jhelum rivers bring lot of logs and wood with them which people try to net through different means and but many lose their lives.—Staff Correspondent
