LONDON, July 26: The euro rose against the dollar on Wednesday as expectations of a ECB interest rate hike on August 3 outweighed a dip in a closely-watched survey of German business confidence.

The euro rose to $1.2620 in late European trade, from $1.2575 late on Tuesday in New York.

The dollar fell to 117.00 yen from 117.24 yen late on Tuesday.

In Germany, the keenly watched Ifo business climate index slipped to 105.6 points in July from 106.8 in June.—AFP
