PESHAWAR, June 3: The Hazara University has decided to set up departments of mass communication, traditional heritage, culture studies, sociology, anthropology, political science, economics, centre for contemporary religions, languages and environmental sciences.
A press release issued here on Saturday said that the decision was taken at a meeting headed by the newly-appointed vice-chancellor of the university.
Vice-Chancellor Dr Ihsan Ali discussed various academic matters in the academic meeting.
The meeting decided to extend teaching hours in order to compensate academic period lost due to Oct 8 earth quake.
The meeting approved admissions in spring semester 2006.
They also discussed the possibility of arranging convocation in future on a proper day and time.
The academic council also deliberated upon the estimated budget of 2006, presented by various departments.
