Bulgarian to train spikers

LAHORE, May 30: A Bulgarian coach Strahil Pantchev Balov will train the Pakistan volleyball team which will take part in the 15th Asian Games to be held in Doha, Qatar, in December. Pakistan Volleyball Federation secretary Mohammad Afzal said that the foreign coach would join the ongoing camp at Islamabad from Wednesday.

He said that Balov had also coached the national teams of Saudi Arabia and of his own country.

The secretary said before the Asian Games, Pakistan would also compete in three major tournaments including 9th Al-Rashid International tournament from July 12 to 19 Dubai, 10th South Asian Games scheduled for Sri Lanka in August and Asian Junior championship in Tehran, Iran, from Sept 13 to 21.

The PVF had summoned 22 probables for the training camp.

Probables: Mohammad Tariq, Imran Ali, Mohammad Yasin, Mohammad Zaman, Amjid Hussain, Mohammad Asif, Mohammad Zafar Iqbal, Mohammad Waseem, Mohib Rasool, Mohiodeen, Naeem Jan, Ahzar Hussain, Kashif Mansoor, Zahid Pervaiz, Mohammad Asif, Ali Abbas, Imran Tipu, Zaheer Khan, Zaheer Abbas, Naseer Ahmed, Mohammad Ismail, Bakhat Rasal.
