OKARA, May 28: A taxi driver was murdered while a railway police constable was electrocuted in separate incidents here on Sunday. Reports said some men hired a cab from Hujra Shah Muqeem on Saturday night and later killed its driver Shah Nawaz. The accused fled without the car and valuables. Police have registered a case.

In another incident, a newly-appointed railway police constable, Muhammad Munir, was inspecting an oil boggy at the city station when his gun touched the heavy voltage wires. He received a severe electric shock and was shifted from DHQ hospital to Lahore where he succumbed to his burn injuries. — Correspondent
