HYDERABAD, May 22: Sindh Sports Minister Qamar Mansoor on Sunday night unveiled logo and mascot of 10th Sindh Games (June 12-16) at a ceremony on the lawns of Hyderabad Sports Complex. Teams from Karachi, Mirpurkhas, Larkana, Sukkur and Hyderabad regions would participate in Sindh Games with 311 players including male and female and officials representing each region.
According to break-up, 191 male players with 35 officials and 72 female players with 13 officials would take part from each region.
The logo has been designed by Sindh Sports Board (SSB) coordinator and organising secretary of Sindh games.
Before selecting team in each region, inter-district regional meets had been held while such games would soon be held in Karachi for selecting the team.
Keeping in view summer season most of the games would be played in evening or under lights whereas indoors games would be organised where such facilities were available.
Public School Hyderabad would be given status of Olympic village with a well equipped media centre for journalists and a food street would be set up for players and people. He said that sub-committees besides the organising committee had been formed to hold the event.
Sindh Games were being organised in Hyderabad for the third time and efforts were under way to ensure holding the Games in a befitting manner so that people could remember them for ever.
Men would participate in 21-games including athletics, badminton, basketball, body building, boxing, cycling, football, gymnastics, handball, hockey, karate, kodi kodi, malhakhiro, shooting ball, squash, swimming, table tennis, tennis, volleyball, wanjh watti and weight lifting.
The women would compete in athletics, badminton, basketball, hockey, netball, squash, table tennis and volleyball.
