LAHORE, May 21: Federal Information Minister Muhammad Ali Durrani called on Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi here on Sunday. During the meeting, the information minister briefed the chief minister on the salient features of the government’s media policy which, he said, had created a conducive atmosphere for the emergence of so many electronic media channels in the country.

The chief minister appreciated the role being played by both the electronic as well as the print media in the projection of government policies, plans and projects. He also pointed out that media in Pakistan had never been vibrant, attuned or independent as it was at present.

The information minister commended the chief minister on the scale of development projects being carried out by the provincial government.

Matters relating to the role of the PML in the political arena were also discussed during the meeting.
