Irfan propels PCC into final

KARACHI, May 14: Promising off-spinner Irfanuddin turned in a splendid spell to help Pakistan qualify for the final of the KCCA Centenary Inter-club cricket tournament on Saturday.

Irfan grabbed five for 26 as Pakistan CC bowled out Mohammad Hussain CC for 174 in the first semifinal at the Student Sports Ground.

Mohammad Sami, the Pakistan fast bowler bidding to make the forthcoming England tour, produced a fine all-round performance for the losers.

Sami hit a top-score 44, including four fours and one six, before claiming three for 49 as Pakistan CC scored 178 for seven in reply.

Shahid Latif (44 with five fours and one six) and Nauman Alvi (43 with four fours and one six) shone with the bat for the winners.
