PORT-OF-SPAIN, May 14: The sixth One-day International between the West Indies and Zimbabwe was abandoned with no result after steady rain on Saturday (partly reported in Sunday’s edition).
Runako Morton's second one-day century had guided West Indies to 263 for six off 50 overs and Zimbabwe, chasing a revised target of 191 in 30 overs, were 72 for two in 12.1 overs when the second stoppage forced umpires to end play.
It was the second time in the seven-match series that there has been no result, following the washout of the third game in Guyana.
Rain first interrupted the match after two overs of the Zimbabwe innings but the visitors made good progress following the resumption an hour and 25 minutes later.
Brendan Taylor, with 20 off 21 balls, and opener Vusi Sibanda (18 not out) had offered encouragement to Zimbabwe, who were scoring at nearly six runs an over when rain ended the match.
