LAHORE, May 14: Staging a brilliant comeback, Garrison 'B' won the 16th Corps Commander Golf Cup beating the first two-day leader Garrison ‘A’ by difference of one stroke at the Lahore Garrison course on Sunday.
Garrison 'B' comprising ex-Test cricketer Aamir Sohail, Hamid Jamshed, Mustafa Rafi Khan and Masood Piracha aggregated 631 against 632 of the 'A' side.
Garrison 'A' failed to maintain the winner's rhythm. Their Tashfeen Ashraf Asif Nadeem and Nisar were off color on the vital final day and lost the title.
Garrison 'B' played with determination. Aamir’s steadiness was a substantial contribution supported by reasonably good scores from Hamid, Mustafa Khan and Masood.
Aamir also crowned the net title with three-day aggregate 202 followed by Ghayyur Zaidi who had 210. Amir Gorraya came third with 211.
In the race for gross, Mohammad Safdar emerged as winner with three-day total 215 after neck and neck fight against Wasim Rana. The result decided on the last hole.
Safdar completed the final round at two-under-70 while Waseem at one-under-71. Waseem aggregated 216.
