PU body: The Punjab University Academic Staff Association (PUASF) has demanded that the government should try under anti-terrorism act (ATA) the ‘ruffians’ who had attacked teachers and students of the institution on a study tour at Head Balloki on Saturday.
A meeting of the association on Sunday threatened “to go to any extent” if immediate legal action was not initiated against the 10 youths allegedly belonging to Joiya family of Phoolnagar.
It said the incident, first of its kind, had outraged the teaching community as well as students which was not a good omen for peaceful atmosphere of the university.
