LAHORE, May 13: Three-year-old colt, Tuman Khan, who had to his credit a facile victory on his last outing, would be on the trot to make it two in-a-row during the Lahore Summer Meeting at the flood-lit Racecourse on Sunday.

Owned by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) ambassador in Islamabad, Mr Ali Muhammad Al-Shamsi, this colt from Tora Bora out-of-Polly Darshan, Tuman Khan, had won a good race over 1200m clocking one min 14 secs.

He showed vast improvement of over 15 lengths within two weeks.

Even if he produces a similar showing the colt should return home triumphantly.

The horse trained by Haji Ghulam Sarwar will probably be ridden by leading jockey M. Hanif, who is best rider over the sprinting distance of 1100m. This will be the fifth and supporting event, a class IV division III handicap race.

The feature and the sixth race, a class IV division II handicap, has only six runners. Of them Shahpur Pride, Royal Power and Miss Photogenic are prominent. The first named on performance has an edge over the others.

The fourth race has a field of 14 runners barring last-minute withdrawals. Three of them come into reckoning and they should fight it out.

Bright Star, Golden Faith, Moj Mela and Token Of Love are the pick of the dozen acceptors for the third race. If on job this should be a closely contented race.

The five-year-old mare Wendy Trace, who registered a fluent win for trainer Khushnood-ur-Rehman a fortnight ago should make it two in a row. In the second race.

Tallal The Great and Dil Vil may be her challengers.

The opener has 14 runners, if there are no last-minute withdrawals. Usually this race is considered to end by springing a surprise for the race-fans being a hit and run event.

However, on form Savera, Wah Bhai Wah and Spring Breeze are the form animals. Any of the three should make it up at the finishing post.

A card of six events will be decided in the night racing, the first to be held at 6pm.
