Students hold demo against Erra policies

MUZAFFARABAD, April 29: The Jammu and Kashmir National Students Federation (JKNSF) on Saturday protested against the policies of the Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (Erra) in the quake affected areas.

Members of the JKNSF marched from Aprada to Domeli Chowk.

The protesters were wearing red bandages on their heads and arms and were holding red flags and banners during the march.

The protesters also crawled at some points to express anger. They shouted slogans against revaluation of losses by Erra and demanded waiver of electricity and telephone bills and unconditional release of detained JKNSF leaders.

Central president of NSF Mehmood Baig, deputy secretary-general Raja Saba Hussain and district organizer Dilawar Khan said that the JKNSF would not accept the new survey conducted by Erra in the quake-hit areas.—Online
