KARACHI: BCom results

KARACHI, April 28: The University of Karachi on Friday declared the results of BCom part-II (regular and private) annual examinations, 2005, with a pass percentage of 22.25.

According to a KU notification, the top three positions in the merit list were clinched by woman students belonging to a government and a private college. As many as 21,152 candidates took the exams, out of which 4,707 were declared pass.

Zainab Hafeez, seat no 411081, of the Government College of Commerce and Economics, clinched the first position by securing 1,129 out of 1,500 marks, while Saba Ghafoor, seat no 409322, of the DHA Degree College for Women, and Maria Chinoy, seat no 410754, of the Government College of Commerce and Economics, bagged the second and third positions respectively.

A total of 1,011 regular candidates and 162 private candidates were placed in first division. Results of 137 candidates were withheld for want of enrolment or registration or fine while another 158 results were withheld as candidates were found using unfair means in the exams, said the notification.
