KARACHI, April 27: In pursuance of directives of Chief Justice, Sindh High Court, the government of Sindh has appointed Mr Justice Rehmat Hussain Jaferi, Judge of High Court of Sindh Karachi, as inquiry officer for conducting inquiry into the incident of bomb blast at Nishtar Park, Karachi on April 11 on Eid Milad-un-Nabi celebrations resulting into death of more than 50 persons and causing injuries to about 100 persons.

The terms of reference of inquiry shall be to probe and ascertain the circumstances and causes leading to the tragic incident of bomb blast at Nishtar Park, Karachi on April 11, resulting into the death of more than 50 persons and causing injuries to about 100 persons.

To find out the negligence and lapses, if any, on the part of law-enforcement agencies, to fix the responsibility against the person either directly or indirectly involved in the incident and to recommend action, and to suggest effective measures to be taken with a view to avoid reoccurrence of such tragic incidents.

The inquiry officer would submit his report within four weeks to the Government of Sindh, Home Department Karachi.—PPI
