KARACHI: 2 held for stealing water

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, April 24: Two persons have been arrested for stealing water from a 3-inch diameter supply line near Nadi Ali Square in Malir. According to town officials, the beneficiaries of illegal water connections included several cattle pens and those selling water to nearby residents in cans on donkey-carts.

A raiding party of the Malir Town administration, headed by the nazim of Malir town, raided the place and booked those stealing water in Malir’s industrial area.

The town administration has warned that the drive against illegal connections will continue and those found involved will be handed to the police. Meanwhile, the town administration has warned the Liaquat Market Merchants Association to remove their illegal office set up on the premises of the market. The town administration has also taken notice of an illegal parking lot inside the market.
