KARACHI: Facilities for Lyariites pledged


KARACHI, April 25: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan has said that steps are being taken to ensure provision of facilities of education, health and sanitation, besides eliminating crimes in Lyari.

“Lyari is the life of not only Karachi, but of whole Pakistan and people living here are great patriots, loving and hard working”, he said and added that present government would provide all facilities to them.

He was talking to a delegation, comprising Nadia Gabol, Tariq Meer and Abdul Sattar Gabol, which called on him at Governor’s House here on Tuesday.

Showing her interest in the improvement of situation in Lyari and social welfare activities, Nadia Gabol apprised the governor about her plans in this regard.She said people of Lyari have taken a sigh of relief due to the present government's anti-crime efforts and “we all now should join hands in efforts for their welfare.”

Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan said that the present government paid attention on the area and executed a coordinated plan to clear it of drugs, extortions and other crimes.

The law enforcing organisations acted against criminals with public cooperation, busted their dens and hideouts.

The governor said a clear programme has been devised to provide relief and facilities to area people and the same is being fast implemented.

He said work is going on water supply, establishment of permanent sewerage system besides construction of roads, sanitation, health and education projects.—APP
