LAHORE, April 23: Devastating bowling by Wasim Khan helped National Bank restrict Karachi Harbour to a modest first-innings total in the Pentangular Cup final round match at the Qadhafi Stadium on Sunday.

Paceman Wasim captured six for 57 as Karachi Harbour were all out for 249 in 82.5 overs after being 156 for two at one stage.

Among Wasim’s victims were Mohtashim Ali (77), Mansoor Baig (43) and Fawad Alam (40).

Mohtashim, who struck 12 boundaries batted patiently for 192 minutes and was involved in two productive partnerships. He put on 84 with Mansoor Baig for the second wicket in 89 minutes and 60 for the third wicket with Afsar Nawaz.

Test fast bowler Mohammad Sami mopped up the tail by sending back Adnan Malik (1), Mohammad Hasnain (13) and Atif Maqbool (0) to finish with three for 73.

National Bank, who must win this game to claim the trophy, were 10 for one by close of play.
