PPP struggling for Pukhtuns’ rights: minister

PESHAWAR, April 22: Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao has asked people to defeat in the elections forces which bank on wealth and promote plutocracy.

Welcoming former provincial minister Haji Ehsanullah Khan and others in the Pakistan People’s Party Patriots on Friday, the minister said the PPP believed in collective service of the masses and it had launched large projects in the province.

Haji Ehsanullah of Charsadda was a leader of the Pakistan Muslim League.

Mr Sherpao said his party had been struggling for the rights of Pukhtuns.

“We are the real representatives of the people of the NWFP, particularly the Pukhtus. We have been struggling for the rights and resources of the Pukhtuns for a long time. We are part of a government which has worked for the betterment of people,” he said.

Mr Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao said the present social change and development was a logical outcome of the policies implemented by the PPP during its previous tenures.—Bureau Report
