KARACHI: Drive against encroachments continues

KARACHI, April 22: The city government on the orders of the Sindh High Court continued drive against encroachments on 40-feet wide road at the Block 6, PECHS, on Saturday.

The drive to raze illegally built houses and shops continued till night.

The CDGK sources said that some encroachers resorted to aerial firing and pelted the CDGK employees with stones. Heavy contingent of police was present to control the situation.

The residents of the area had moved the Sindh High Court that some encroachers had constructed illegal structures on 40-feet wide road, hence they were facing with immense difficulties.

The SHC had instructed the CDGK to remove encroachments within five weeks and revive the blocked road as per master plan so that to facilitate the residents.

The CDGK on the instruction of the SHC initiated operation near Baloch Colony police station to remove more than 40 houses and other structures with help of heavy machinery, which was continuing till night.

Meanwhile, the Shah Faisal Town administration in its ongoing operation against encroachments has vacated roads and streets from illegal occupants in UC-7 and Al-Falah Society.—PPI
