UN hails Nepal king’s offer
UNITED NATIONS, April 22: Secretary-General Kofi Annan on Friday welcomed a proclamation issued by King Gyanendra of Nepal affirming that executive power will be returned to the people.
A UN spokesman said Mr Annan hoped that the development ‘will result in the speedy restoration of democratic order, and end to the conflict’.
