KARACHI, April 20: Two ships, including Man Pung carrying 12,500 tons of sugar, are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was fairly active where 11 vessels were berthed to unload and load general cargoes and containers. They are: Kardran Star, to unload sugar, Kota Wijaya, Emerald Sea, Y.M. Sun, Hyundai Higherway, Kuo Hung, to unload and load containers, Shalamar, Johar, Wappen Von Leipzig and Rising Sun, tankers, and Anangel Eagle, to unload DAP fertiliser.

Four ships, APL Osaka, Kota Wijaya, Calmy Coral and Oak Galaxy, departed on Thursday, while a dozen others are due to sail out on Friday. They are: Zhen-Hua-7, Hyundai Highway, Kuo Hung, Y.M. Sun, Wappen Von Leipzig, Eric G. Gibson, Dream Angel, Johar, Shalamar, Sargodha, Mol Kauri and Rising Sun.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where a total tonnage of 0.124m tons comprising 20,127 tons of export cargo, including 8,604 tons of rice and 0.103m tons of import tonnage, which also included 2,615 tons of sugar, was handled.

The following ships are due on Friday: Maersk Alabama, with containers and Man Pung, with 12,500 tons of sugar.
