Published April 16, 2006

ISLAMABAD, April 15: The government on Saturday removed OGDCL managing director M. Raziuddin and appointed former managing director of Caltex Arshad Nasir in his place.

Mr Nasir is currently working as chairman of the OGDCL board — a job he will continue for the time being on additional charge basis.

Mr Raziuddin, a former head of Attock Refinery Limited, had taken over as managing director of OGDCL about two years ago and was given the task of preparing the company for privatisation by the prime minister.

The prime minister approved his removal following a meeting with Petroleum Secretary Ahmed Waqar on Saturday, sources said.
