ISLAMABAD, April 10: Pakisan and Yemen on Monday signed several agreements to promote cooperation in the fields of media, tourism and sports. President General Pervez Musharraf and President Ali Abdullah Saleh oversaw the signing of the accords at Aiwan-i-Sadr.
Information Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed and Yemeni Minister for International Cooperation Abdul Karim Ismail Ahmed Al Arhabi signed the agreement for cooperation in the field of media.
Education, Sports and Culture Minister Javed Ashraf and the Yemeni minister for international cooperation signed the protocol on cooperation in the field of sports and youth affairs.
Tourism Minister Dr Syiad G.G. Jamal and the Yemeni minister signed the agreement on cooperation in the field of tourism.
A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Pakistan standards quality control and Yemeni authority for specification, standardisation and quality control by Science and Technology Minister Chaudhry Nauraiz Shakoor and Yemeni Minister for Trade Khaled Rajeh Sheikh Dauood.
Another MoU between the export promotion bureaus of the two countries was inked by EPB chairman Tariq Ikram and the Yemeni secretary-general of export supreme council.—APP
