PESHAWAR, April 10: A westerly wind blowing in from Afghanistan will continue to hit Peshawar Valley and the rest of the country for another day, an official of the meteorological office said here on Monday.

The official said the wind was currently blowing at its highest speed, ie, 40 knots in Peshawar and 30 knots in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

The velocity of the wind is expected to decrease to 25 knots on Tuesday.

He said the wind would continue to strike Peshawar with the same pace throughout the day.

Day after tomorrow, he said the speed of the wind would become normal and added that it was moving towards the south in India.

To a question, he said, the temperature which had risen to 35 centigrade in Peshawar two days before had now dropped to 24 centigrade on Monday due to the blowing of a cold wind. —APP
