KARACHI, April 9: MQM chief Altaf Hussain has called upon Mulsims to follow the Seerat of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). He was addressing a Mehfil-i-Naat held at Lal Qilla Ground Azizabad on Saturday night in connection with Jashan Eidul-i-Millad Nabi.

Mr Hussain observed that had Muslims practised and followed the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), 56 Muslim countries would not have led the life like salves. He underscored the need for following the teachings of Holy Prophet (PBUH) in true spirit.

He said that the message of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) was for the entire humanity and his actions were meant for welfare of the people at large.

He said: “When we perform religious duties, we claim that we were doing that for the glory of Allah and his last messenger, but, in fact, we do it only for our own personal greed or for fear of retribution. But we do not follow the teachings of Holy Prophet (PBUH) to help the needy and oppressed people without any greed.”

He said that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) first practiced what he preached. The MQM’s philosophy follows the message of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and “we believe in practicalism.”

Senator Allama Abbas Kumali and Maulna Hmaza Ali Qadari also spoke.
