LAKKI MARWAT, April 8: The establishment of a livestock fertility unit will enhance the district’s revenue besides benefiting the people of the southern districts of the province, who are mainly dependent on raising cattle and agriculture.

This was stated by district nazim Humayun Saifullah Khan, who visited the under-construction unit here on Saturday.

The setting up of the unit would help increase domestic milk and meat production, the nazim said.

He called for accelerated completion of the construction work and directed the authorities concerned to equip the laboratory with most modern technology.

Earlier, Assistant Director of the Livestock and Dairy Development Dr Gul Rehman briefed the nazim and said the district government had already provided Rs600,000 for construction work.

He said that the Barani Area Development Programme had pledged to spend Rs8 million on purchase of laboratory equipment and accessories.
