PESHAWAR, April 7: NWFP Minister for Environment and Forests Shah Raz Khan has expressed concern over increasing activities of outlaws in Malakand, especially in Sakhakot and Dargai, and directed the district administration to take concrete steps for improving the law and order situation.

He was chairing a high-level meeting in Peshawar, attended by MNA Syed Bakhtiar Muani, Tehsil Nazim Batkhela Shahab Hussain, Naib Amir J I Malakand Noor Muhammad, Amir Tehsil Dargai Rizwanullah, Zakir Hussain.

The minister said some some people from Mardan, Charsadda and Dir were trying to politicise the situation.

“Outlaws in Malakand Agency are enemies of peace and tranquillity and they may extend their network to other areas of the province if their activities are not controlled,” he maintained.

He called upon Mardan, Dir and Charsadda based political leaders to stop negative propaganda against people of Malakand and cooperate with law enforcement agencies for arrest of criminals.
