Growers hold protest against loadshedding

By Our Staff Correspondent

QUETTA, April 6: The Zamindar Action Committee has threatened to block all national highways from Saturday if the provincial government fails to restore power supply to 20 affected districts by April 7.

Several thousand growers and zamindars protested against continuous load-shedding and suspension of power supply to various districts of Balochistan at Miangundi, some 20km of here.

The protesters had planned to march up to the Governor House the other day, however, after negotiation with the authorities concerned, they postponed it. Speaker Balochistan Assembly Jamal Shah Kakar were present during negotiation.
