TORONTO, April 5: PIA’s two direct flights to Canada were delayed by nine to 21 hours causing hardship to passengers and their relatives at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport. Civil Aviation sources told Dawn here on Wednesday that the Toronto-bound flight PK 783 was delayed by nearly 21 hours. Instead of arriving on Sunday afternoon, the flight reached Toronto on Monday.

The next flight, PK 789, coming to Toronto from Karachi via Lahore was delayed by nine hours on Tuesday. PIA’s airport manager Ejaz Shah attributed the delays to ‘operational reasons’.

The delayed PK 789 flight departed on Wednesday morning for Lahore within two hours of its arrival here with 238 passengers on board.
