KARACHI, April 5: The Chief Secretary, Fazalur Rehman, on Wednesday directed officials concerned to provide better health and education facilities at the Lyari Expressway’s resettlement sites in Karachi.

He was chairing a high-level meeting held at his office. The meeting reviewed problems being faced by existing educational institutions and health centres in Taiser and Hawkesbay towns.

The chief secretary asked authorities concerned to ensure immediate provision of health and education facilities at these localities from government resources in accordance with rules and regulations and take measures to increase enrolment in schools and colleges there.

He directed provincial health and education secretaries and other concerned officials to undertake inspection visits of Taiser and Hawkesbay towns along with the LERP project director on April 6 and take steps for solution of health and education related problems there.

Fazal issued directives for meeting staff shortage at educational institutions and health centres in these localities. — PPI
