KARACHI, April 1: Sparking centuries by Naseem Khan and Akbar Rahman inspired Defence Housing Authority (DHA) to lift the KCCA Inter-departmental cricket championship with a 10-wicket victory over Pak PWD at the KCCA Stadium on Friday.

DHA made light work of their target of 260 in the 50-over final as they romped home in the 49th over thanks to brilliant batting of Naseem and Akbar.

The left-handed Naseem continued his excellent form which saw him score a century in the semifinal as well. He blasted 15 boundaries in his 113-ball 109 against a wilting PWD bowling attack.

Akbar was not to be left behind as he unleashed 11 fours and one six in making 105 off 115 deliveries.

Pak PWD were earlier bowled out for 259 after being asked to bat first.

Khurram Manzoor contributed 87 which included seven fours while Faraz Patel struck four boundaries in making 59.

Off-spinner Atiq Maqbool and pacer Malik Aftab claimed three wickets each while conceding 35 and 53 runs, respectively.

Summarised scores:

PAK PWD 259 in 50 overs (Khurram Manzoor 87, Faraz Patel 59, Adnan Baig 30, Khalid Latif 23; Atif Maqbool 3-35, Malik Aftab 3-53);

DHA 260-0 in 39.3 overs (M. Naseem Khan 109 not out, Akbar Rahman 104 not out).
