Safe water for all by Dec 2007, says Aziz

By Our Correspondent

ISLAMABAD, April 1: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz said on Saturday that Rs5 billion Khushhal-i-Pakistan funds would be spent mainly on projects relating to roads, water, sanitation, income generation, health and education.

During a meeting with MNAs and senators, he said parliamentarians should enhance contact with people in their constituencies to solve their problems.

He said the elected representatives should also coordinate with departments for timely completion of development projects.

He said 6,035 water filter plants would be installed throughout the country by December 2007 under the Khushhal Pakistan Programme to provide safe water to everyone.

He also said that every city and village would be electrified by 2007 under the same programme.
