Polo: Hissam snatches match-winner

LAHORE, March 31: A decisive goal by three-goal Hissam Ali Hyder helped Enzo qualify for the final of the 2-6 Goal Polo tournament beating United Solutions (US) 5- 4 1/2 on Friday.

A half-goal handicap helped US to lead the first chukker 1 1/2-1. Amir Shahid scored for US while Sardar Adnan Ahmed Khan struck for the winners.

US held on to the lead 2 1/2-2 in the second chukker by virtue of their handicap.

Hassan Ali Farrukh scored a field goal for Enzo while three-goal Raja Samiullah struck first for US.

Back-to-back goals by Hissam helped the winners gain 4-3 1/2 lead for the first time in the third chukker.

Samiullah banged home with his second goal for US. In the fourth chukker, Samiullah scored his third to give US 4 1/2-4 lead, before Hissam scored his third to seal the fate of the match.

Kamran Zaidi scored the match-winner in extra fifth chukker to help Sherwood beat Boys-II 6-5.

Besides Kamran, Jawad Jamil Malik scored two for the winners, who had a two-goal handicap. Omar Asjad Malhi added one goal.

For the losers, Agha Murtaza Ali Khan (2) was the top scorer.

Saqib Khan Khakwani, Junaid Ahmad and Usman Haye scored one each.
