PML-F activists protest against Rind’s arrest

By Our Correspondent

NAWABSHAH, March 31: A large number of PML-F activists took out a procession and demonstrated outside the local press club in protest against the arrest of Sher Mohammad Rind.

The rally started from the PML-F district office and after marching on main thoroughfares, it reached outside the press club where protesters staged demonstration and blocked the road. Carrying placards and banners, the protesters raised slogans against police.

A contingent of police led by Nawabshah TPO Aijaz Tareen reached the place and snatched banners and placards from the protesters and used batons to disperse them.

Police also arrested about 70 protesters, including two nephews of Sher Mohammad Rind — Mir Nauroze Khan Talpur and Mir Zarak Khan Talpur.

Earlier, speaking at a press conference at the local press club, Mir Nauroze Khan Talpur and Mir Zarak Khan Talpur along with PML-F leader Imtiaz Wagan alleged that police beat up peaceful protesters and arrested about 150 workers.

They said that to raise voice against excesses is the right of every citizen but the police crossed all limits by resorting inhuman excesses on peaceful protesters.

They alleged that an officer of police department had invited Sardar Sher Mohammad Rind at his office and arrested him and registered false cases against him.

They demanded that Sardar Sher Mohammad Rind should be provided medical treatment as he was ill.

On the other hand, TPO Aijaz Tareen told newsmen that Sardar Sher Mohammad Rind and his companions were wanted in many heinous crimes by Sindh and Balochistan police.

He said about 30-35 protesters had been arrested by police.

According to reports, besides nephews of Sher Mohammad Rind, police arrested Yar Mohammad Panhwar, Ghulam Fareed Mugheri, Ali Khan Gharyani, Amir Bux Khaskheli, Mohammad Saleh Rind, Moula Bux Rind, Sikandar Rind, Ali Raza Rajpar, Chathal Rind, Photo Rind, Mir Ali Rind, Amir Ali, Jafar Rind, Ayoub Brohi, Fida Hussain, Javed, Koral Katpar, Ismail Rind, Dilshad, Qayoom, Abdul Sattar and others.
