Rajapakse’s visit to boost ties: Aziz

ISLAMABAD, March 31: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Friday said that Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse’s visit to Pakistan would strengthen ties between the two countries.

Talking to reporters at the Chaklala airbase after receiving the Sri Lankan leader, he said: “Pakistan has very strong, friendly and strategic relations with Sri Lanka.”

He said these relations would grow further, particularly after the visit of the Sri Lankan president.

The prime minister said that being member of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation, both Pakistan and Sri Lanka were making efforts to ensure peace and prosperity in the region.—APP
