KARACHI, March 24: Sindh Home Minister Rauf Siddiqui has said that Sindh Police Hospital will start functioning in the next six months. He was speaking as chief guest at the inauguration of a stage drama where noted artist Umer Sharif announced a donation of Rs100,000 for police hospital.

Rauf Siddiqui said that steps were being taken for upgradation of this hospital where police officials and personnel and their families would be provided free medical facilities. In order to run the hospital, he said that a board of governors had been formed.

He said that since salaries of police and Rangers were meagre, special attention was being paid on providing them better medical facilities while plans were also underway for education of their children. — APP
