Former BCCP official passes away
LAHORE, March 22: Masood Salahuddin (91), who played unofficial Test cricket for All India team, died here on Tuesday night after protracted illness. He was 91. Born in Meerut, India, the deceased also represented United Province (UP) and Railways in Indian domestic first class cricket for many years. He was manager of the Pakistan team which toured India in 1952.
He played 24 first class matches, scoring 528 runs and as right-arm medium-fast bowler and took 39 wickets for 906 runs.
He also supervised Test matches in the home series against India in 1954-55.
Masood Salahuddin also held different posts in the then BCCP during the tenure of late A.H Kardar.
He was a close relative of former PCB chief executive Arif Ali Khan Abbasi.
The deceased left behind a son and a daughter.
He will be laid to rest in a local graveyard in Gulberg on Thursday after Asr prayers.
